WORK STATIONS allow service tasks to be accomplished at some distance from the actual equipment. A small control panel at each station replaces bulky equipment. The immediate work area is now clutter-free. Time & motion efficiency gains are immediate. A financial benefit results from eliminating redundant equipment purchases. Common lines, with "service drops" can be routed from major (now re-located) equipment to serve the new multiple work stations.
Automobile air conditioning systems require a lot of service equipment: refrigerant recovery & recycling machines, vacuum pumps, nitrogen bottles (for leak test pressurization), nitrogen dumping, refrigerant recharging equipment. Most of this equipment could serve more than one work area, if it were just plumbed from a remote part of the building to the work area where it is needed. Control panels in those areas could easily control the flow of gases, and liquids, etc..
